Should I assume she wants to equalize the treats?

Question - (17 January 2010) 3 Answers - (Newest, 17 January 2010)
A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I just got rejected because the girl happened to have a boyfriend and all... We decided to meet up for coffee but then she asked me if I want to do dinner instead. The last dinner we had, it was on me so I am assuming she wants to equalize the treats. Not really in for a dinner after what happened and the fact that she is trying to "close" all the accounts kind of hurts me... What do you think I should do? Should I just stick with the coffee?

She's taken, which means this is bad news. Thank her for the invite, tell her you can't accept and run a mile away.

person12345 agony auntShe might feel bad for you paying for a meal and her not paying for anything, or she might be toying with you because she enjoys the attention. Either way, I wouldn't go with her anywhere. It can't go anywhere. I'd just leave it and move on.
