I'm at university, and once I signed up to the uni dating website kinda for a laugh with some mates, but then checked out the profiles and there was 1 girl i really the profile for.I then saw her around my department at uni yesterday and was like 'wow'. we made eye contact, but it wasn't anything big. I wouldn't mind asking her out/trying to see if i could talk to her, but wouldn't it be a little odd to do so to someone random via a social networking site? i doubt i'll see her around in the department again so i'd have to contact her electronically and that always bugs me as being a little creepy... I'm not the most confident of persons either, so that doesn't help too...Any help of how best to approach her would be cool!Marcus

I met my boyfriend through internet dating, and we've been together for a year and a half. It is quite dangerous, but i always told myself that i'm on there, so there must be other ppl on the site like me.
There is nothing wrong with approaching her, as long you are safe.
Tell her you've seen her profile, and tell her that you've seen her on campus too and that you've decided you need to make contact - and thank goodness for this site.
Be honest, and tell her that you only signed up for a laugh, but then when you saw her in real life you needed to make contact with her, and didn't know how else to get hold of her again.
Go for it
Good luck
