Recently though I moved into college and turned 17 and it occurred to me that I'd never had a girlfriend. This isn't me asking if it's normal or anything like that, this is me wondering if I should actively try and find a girl to go out with. Not because of peer pressure but because the prospect of having someone to share my life with is very appealing to me.I went ice skating to the big public rink near where I live last month and I just saw this couple around my age just having fun and for the first time I felt that I really want that experience in my life. I've always sort of expected to meet someone with the same interests as me and sort of go from there but for some reason nothing's ever happenedThanks for any advice you can offer.

Go out and meet people. Gain some social skills. I'm willing to bet you won't have to "pursue" girls. Join a club with your peers at college or go hang out with your mates.
