Should getting fingered have hurt?

A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Basically, me and my boyfriend went to a party 2 days ago and slept in a tent in the friend who had the party's back garden. We were both slightly drunk so it was less awkward when he asked to finger me. I said yes, but it was my first time. He went slowly and I was really wet (as he pointed out for me) but it really hurt when he slid his fingers inside. I asked him to stop so he did, he's considerate. I'm just wondering, should it have hurt so badly? It didn't hurt when he licked me out that same night, and it was my first time for that too. His fingernails were short and he wasn't going too fast/rough. Please help xx

Heya,

The first time I was fingered by my boyfriend it hurt like hell, and I thought it wasn't normal! But your vagina isn't used to having...fingers, or anything in it. It could be because you were drunk, your muscles were tighter, not as relaxed, although you would have thought differently. But I hoenstly doubt it. And if you were extremely wet (like I was) then I am pretty sure it was just your first time. I wasn't drunk and it hurt! He could have accidentally scratched you but I am pretty sure it was just your vagina getting used to a new feeling. It did hurt me that one time, but it doesn't hurt anymore. You're not alone, trust me, and you helped me by posting this!

if it's the first time anything has been -up there- it's bound to be pretty tight (which is totally natural) and if it was your first time you may have been nervous and tense, this means the muscles in that area would have been tensed up making it harder for your guys finger to slide in nicely. So next time relax, lie back and feel comfortable to make it easier for him to enter :L
