If you're a true friend to her then you need to sit and tell her that her attitude is making people dislike her very much. She will have to change her ways if she wants to keep her friends and that includes you! Tell her what she does that's wrong and hopefully she'll learn from you how to be a better person.

I think you need to strike a balance. You need to distance yourself from what she is saying and try to appear as an individual with your peers or else they will start to associate the two of you and judge you with her. Maybe try to associate less with her in 'public' but maintain contact in 'private' away from your other friends.
If she asks why then explain that although you do love her dearly you dont always agree with her nastiness to others. Maybe she will correct her behaviour a little if you do this. Hope that helps.
