When I try, she calls me annoying and tells me that it would only make things worse. You do what she says. I find it completely unattractive when a man says he'll "sort some one out."
Maybe she doesn't want some dick head of an alpha male for a boyfriend. Maybe she wants you because you respect her wishes?
Leave her to deal with it but encourage her to stand up for herself. Remind her that she can report him to the police if he doesn't listen to her.

Do as she says. She loves you, and if you act the big tough boyfriend who has a go, you'll look like an idiot in her eyes. She needs to know she can trust you, not watch you have a go.
