Okay so theres this girl i met the other day and it seemed like we hit it off and stuff, but when we were at the same party and i tried to mingle with her she kinda snubbed me. her friends told me later that she was still getting over her ex and that i was being a bit too forward. how can i recover from this situation, because she's really cool and i'd like to see her more.

A reader, anonymous, writes (24 May 2008):

Just give her some time. She probably likes you, but I think if you just take it slow, keep talking to her and stuff, but probably nothing too flirty at the moment. I think that being friends with her and not coming across too strong would be the best plan.

That way you can still talk to her and like her without it being a problem and she doesn't feel pressurised into anything while she is still coping with the split from her ex.

Hope I have been of some help :) Good luck!
