Relationships are hard fullstop never mind having a long distance one. 5 hours away is quite a distance to make a relationship work.
you just have to think are you both strong enough to cope with the distance, you are but i get the feeling your girlfriend isnt. Talk to her about her self harming and beg her to sort herself out and go see a doc.
