reader, anonymous, writes (9 April 2010): It's unlikely, but not impossible. You ovulate around 14 days before your period so if it were the day before then you'd think that egg was well past the fertilising stage.

You can get pregnant at any point in your cycle, you should use protection at ALL times if you don't want to conceive. Stress can make your period late so try not to worry.
