Well if he's just told you that he wants to have sex with you then he's a user and will stop bothering with you as soon as he's had his way.
If he wanted to be with you then he would have told you he wanted to take you out.
Tell him you aren't interested in just sex as you want a boyfriend.
You HAVE to make a guy work and prove himself to you or you'll just get thought of as a slut.

You need to get to know him and take time getting to know him. If he takes his time and gets to know you, then he's probably more likely to want you for more than just sex. If he wants nothing but sex, chances are he won't bother for that long.
