A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Especially shy guys, but guys in general. Do they feel pressure to ask the girl out that they like? If they do does that help give them the courage to go ahead and do it? Are they likely to wait a long time like until the last possible moment before they ask her out? Also if their friends know will they keep pushing him to ask her out?

A male reader, anonymous, writes (7 January 2010):

for me, as a shy guy, i have trouble asking a girl out unless it is VERY clear she likes me back. This is because i'm afraid of rejection, teasing etc. I don't know about friends pressuring because i don't tell my mates who i like.
