It might be because you don't know guys enough.
Just like scary movies, it looks scary at first but once you know how they made the scary part, it's not so scary anymore.
It can be due to self esteem, I know for a fact that I was a confused fellow when I was your age. I still am, but it's more controllable after a while.
Action conquers fear every time. If you're scared of something, you'll find it less scary the more you experience it.
