I recently went to see the Rocky Horror Show at the theatre and made the mistake of buying the full maids outfit(looked good but v.expensive for 1 night). I would suggest getting your sexist little black dress - (there's no need to cut it or anything) and just but the maids accessories i.e the apron, the head piece and maybe a garter (look on the net or in a costume shop - you can pick them up for a few £'s or $'s) then just make sure you wear fishnets and high heels.....and suspenders if your dress is really short. This can also work with a sexy black shirt and skirt if you don't have a dress.

 I am not that familiar with this show but, To do a french maid cheaply find a plain or ugly little black dress with short sleeves. Cut it off to make it real short. Get white old lady full coverage underwear sew or fabric glue lace on leg holes and across bum. Buy some fishnet stocking and wear black heels. Wear your newly made lacy panties over stockings to show when ever you bend over.
The apron over it all can be, a white apron cut shorter then the skirt and lace attached.
