Everyone says i look really pretty without glasses, and that blue eyes would really suit me. i've had glasses for 8 years! I want contacts because i have a low self esteem and i think that saving up for contacts would make me feel better about my self too.so i don't want glasses anymore but i want to coloued contacts too, can you have no glasses and use contacts and get coloued contacts at the same time???

Of course you can get prescription colored contacts. Just check with your eye doctor and see what brand suits you best. I've been wearing contact lenses for about 12 years now, maybe more and while I wear the regular ones (non coloured), I know for a fact that coloured ones are available that can be tailored to match the power of your eyes.
Keep in mind though, contacts are a bit of a hassle and need some time getting used to. You have to make sure your hands are perfectly clean every time you put them on or remove them and sometimes a speck of dust or something might enter your eyes and that really irritates the eye. Also, you can never sleep with your contacts on.
Also, you can get blue contacts and wear them and they can enhance your looks but do remember that you cant wear contacts for eternity. You have to switch back to glasses sometime or the other because its not good for the eyes to keep wearing contacts always. And then you don't want to be one of those people who write in here saying, "The boy I've had a crush on said he loved my eyes but he doesn't know that's really not how my eyes are"!!
Anyway, so that's all the pros and cons, now its your decision! Good luck!

Personally I can see better with contacts on and like them better than glasses. If you think you are responsible enough to take care of them so your eyes wont get infected then talk to your parents about it because it will become expensive buying them. I was 13 when I first got my contacts so I don't think you are to young for them but make sure you take good care of them if your parents let you get them, but I think it is definatly something you need to talk to them about. But just because you get contacts doesn't mean that you will never wear your glasses again because you need to give your eyes a break from the contacts an if your eyes start to get irritated you need to wear your glasses.

I do want to say that I was similar to u and did not like wearing glasses as a teen. I got soft contact lenses from the age of 15 and loved them as soon as I put them in my eyes. It is great not having a metal frame on your face and my confidence increased alot. I felt like the real me when I wasn't wearing glasses. I would reccommend soft lenses over hard ones as spft ones are so comfortable. I am now 25 and still wearing contact lwnses and I love them! I have never tried coloured ones although I'd like to one day maybe but only if they do soft ones. If u get contacts remember to take the opticians advice n not wear them all time, e.g. Maybe wear glasses twice a week.
good luck with your decision and all the best.

You are still very young so I think the first step that you should take is to talk to your parents and explain to them how you are feeling. Also when it comes to someone saying you would look pretty with a different colour of eyes, it is only there opinion and you should be comfortable with your own eyes. Coloured contacts are for cosmetic use only and to help your eye sight the best idea is to get the clear ones. Talk to your parents about this.
