There is no limit on question length but it's best if you keep your question concise - i.e. don't make it longer than is necessary.
There is no way to post a "private" question or request this (the question would jsut be rejected) but like David says you could "private mail" an aunt directly with your question, but it's pot-luck whether they will respond. I would recommend posting publically but anonymously if necessary.

As far as I am aware, there is no limit to the size of the post you can write. The questions you write show up for the moderators to approve to the site, or reject completely. There is no in-between.
You can always just paste your questions into mails and send them to us privately. There does tend to be a more personal reply when done in this way. It also makes it easier to correspond and keep us informed of progress.
