reader, anonymous, writes (13 September 2006): Never heard of man bleeding, and it does vary woman to woman. I didn't bleed, and at the time I just put it down to using tampons as I couldn't think of any other reason that the Hymen would already have been broken.
Don't worry too much, if you do bleed I believe it's only a little bit so shouldn't cause you too much discomfort or embarrassment.

Not all women bleed when they lose their virginity.
maybe because of sport, you don't even have to have sex to break your virginity. a lot of horse riders lose there just by horse rinding, gymnasts, because of their flexibility, and some who do lose it like me, don't bleed. I guess it's just the way your body reacts to certain things.
As for men, taking it from behind, i'm not sure but unless you bite them on their genitals i don't think so.
