writes:im 18, i've been sexually active w my boyfriend for a yr. just got on the pill a week and a half ago..ive been bleeding light brown every time after he fingers me, even before i started the pill. what could this be? since im not a virgin and hes fingered me many times i dont think it could be my hymen....any ideas what this spotting could be from? i'm a bit concerned..

reader, anonymous, writes (20 August 2010): Well, since you said that the spotting started BEFORE the pill, I guess the pill isn't the culprit. I'm also assuming that you received a pap smear and was screened for STD's in order to receive the pill. Is he too rough? Are his fingernails trimmed?
