When me and my boyfriend have sexual intercourse, we tried the 'doggy style' position, I love it because of the deep penetration but whenever we do it, my vagina makes a weird 'farting' noise? People call it a 'queef'. When it happens I stop and I'm like whats that?! And my boyfriend starts laughing and says 'dunno', how can I stop this? and what exactly is this? It's embarrassing!! ahah, thanks!:)

A female reader, chigirl Norway +, writes (12 January 2012):

chigirl agony auntIt is air being pushed into your vagina. Probably for you and your boyfriend this particular position is what is causing it. It might not happen with another man, because it's got to do with movement of the two of you together, and also his penis size and shape. With another man there will be other positions where queefing happens.

Anyway, there is no way to stop it really. If air gets in there you can try to pull out and try to see if the air goes out by itself, though the result will be the same fart-like sound. It is important that you do not feel embarrassed by this, you can't help it. It isn't farting, and your boyfriend is just as guilty for it happening as he is the one who is pushing air into you.

You should avoid this position if it embarrasses you too much. Alternatively you can try penetration in different ways to see if that helps. Maybe he pulls out too far. Maybe it'll help if he enters while you lay down on your belly and then move up. Maybe it'll help if he enters while you are both laying on your sides.

In my experience, the more relaxed you are the less likely it is to occur. If you tense up due to embarassment it will be worse.

YouWish agony auntHeh, you can tell the guy to not pull out as much during thrusting. Some guys go all the way out, or most of the way out and pack in more air.

Otherwise, I know you're self-conscious, but guys aren't put off by it! Hell, they're the ones who light their own gas in college. Doesn't bother them at all! In fact, it's a tribute to his manliness.

IHateWomanBeaters agony auntHAHAHAHA i LOVE your description! Its not bad, I like it for real.

As far as the queefing thing, you can stop it by getting a less well-endowed man!

I suggest you stick with the guy you have though! Its not a big deal and it really is not embarassing.

The reason why you have it is because your vagina is being stretched to accomadate his penis, and as a result, he packs the air in the vagina. When he pulls out to switch positions, etc. air will come out.

It is like a girl saying its embarassing to squirt! It is not embarassing. It is natural and a good thing.

Trust me.
