writes:i have an I.U.D and have had one for 1 1/2 yrs. just recently i have had really bad cramping and heavy period like bleeding it happened every other day for a week then just like it started it stopped. then i have had an increase of vaginal discharge and this white discharge that looks like may but is snot like. i was wondering if this is normal or if i could be pregnant? please any info would be helpful thanks

 Doesn't sound like pregnancy, sounds like there could be a problem with the IUD. If something is wrong with it, it could escalate into something worse. Either way, it might only be a short matter of time before it snowballs into something really serious. Play it safe and go get it checked out. This could be a matter of your fertility! It also could be a yeast infection though from your description. Just go get it checked out and put your mind at ease.

 I have not had an iud myself, but my mum did, had similar symptoms to yourself, and it turned out that part of the iud had embedded/ grown in to (somehow) her uterine wall and resulted in her needing a hysterectomy.
Pretty over the top really so I suggest you go see a doctor because no one can (or should) diagnose over the internet and it is best to have facts rather than speculation.
