A female Canada age 30-35, *ulipSwirl writes:

Recently I visited my long distance boyfriend who is residing in the US while I'm living in Canada finishing my degree. About a month after returning from my trip I found out I was pregnant. So far I haven't told anybody, I've also decided to keep the baby but I don't know what to do! I planned on moving down to the US to be with him but it's not like it's an overnight process and I don't have health insurance there or a job but he would be in the same situation as me if he moved up here and right now he has a great job and is a homeowner. I'm at a loss as to what to do, cupids I desperately need your advice.

tennisstar88 agony auntWell congrats on your pregnancy, it sounds exciting and scary for you. Are you still on your parents' insurance? Check into that first. Is so then no worries. However, if you aren't covered anymore then I'm unsure if his insurance will cover the doctor appointments and the delivery without you two being married. Doubtful. If not I know in America there is aid for single pregnant mothers who can get free prenatal care at a women's health clinic depending upon their household income. Now, I'm sure Canada would have something similar. Ultimately, you are going to have to inform your boyfriend as soon as possible about your pregnancy so you two can put your heads together to come up with the best possible solution. Good Luck!

Have you informed him yet? Does he even want to be a father? What if he doesn't? He does have a say in this, or at least he should have a say.
