writes:i have this hot cousin who i love alot and he loves me too but we have family standing between our love.We hav been dating for 3years and things are great between us,we want to tell our parents but we are both scared they might hate on us and the story gets worse i am 2monts pregnant with his child.we want to keep it but we can't i want to abort but i can't take a life that i have been given...please help me what should i do?

Being you are already pregnant, I would keep the baby. It's a part of you so enjoy the child. I once had my cousins baby and it was just fine.

reader, anonymous, writes (18 August 2009): Well, the first thing that comes to my mind is that you may want to get genetic testing done (amnio) to see if the baby is OK without defects as the reasons mostly that it is tabu for first cousins to be lovers is that they are genetically too closely related to produce offspring.
That would be your first thing to decide if you need to terminate the pregnancy for those medical reasons, and time is of the essence here.
As far as telling you what to do about your love and your family, I can't really advise you there no being from South Africa. You would not legally be allowed to marry in the US, that is all I know about that.
