I'm 16 and my boyfriend and I have regular sex, of course we never have unprotected sex, at my boyfriends house he has a drawer where he keeps condoms but he also throws our old condoms in there so his mom won't find them. I came in contact with a condom that had "come" on it that had to be at least 24 hrs old. Later during sex I touched myself but only outside of my body. I was worried that I was pregnant so I took 4 different pregnancy tests that were at least 3 days apart each. They were all negative but I still have no sign of a period, may I be pregnant or is it just hormonal changes in my body? Help

Everything is okay, I started my period this morning which was 8 days late! I'm still kinda worried that I might have some kind of problem but atleast there is no baby! Is it possible for a sixteen yr old to have hormone problems?

your old enough now to go and make an apointment for the doctor yourself. U need to take responsibilty. Dont go into every little detail with the doctor if your embarrased, just tell them that you have not had ur period, are sexually active, but have had 4 negative tests. Please dont panic about it as that can make it worse, i was once 10 days late because i lost half a stone in weight, i didnt realise that losing or gaining weight can affect ur cycle. Could that be it?

Hey guys, I have now taken 4 different tests, and were all after my period was due, all the tests say negative but I'm still not having a period. But I can't tell my mom that I need to see a doctor because she thinks I'm a virgin and I would be in so much trouble if she found out otherwise, can I go to the doctor without her knowing?

did u take the test before or after your period was late? If u test too early then the chances are it will produce a negative because the pregnancy hormome in ur urine will b too low to detect. So if u took it before you discovered ir period was late then take another. If its still negative and ur period hasnt arived then u shud go and see a health care professional eg doc or nurse. Also, sperm cells can live inside the vagina for up to 5 days but cannot live outside the vagina usually, for more than a few hours so its unlikely that your pregnant, however not impossibe, plus as the person before said, condoms r not 100% anyway good luck hun x

jenjen.270 agony auntMost likely you are not pregnant, but there is always that chance. Wait a while longer, it could just be your nerves causing you to have a late period. Give it a few more weeks, if you still havent had a period then take a test. You should really consider birth control. I would ask your doctor about mirena. It is something they put inside you to keep you from getting pregnant. I got pregnant at a young age, and even though I wouldnt change a thing, I would suggest that you be extremely careful. Being a mother isnt all fun and games. You dont want to be a mother at such an early age, You still need to be a teenager and work on yourself and focus on your goals in life. Good luck, with you the best. Really consider a more permanant birth control. Condoms dont always work, how do you think I got my third child.

DrPsych agony auntIt is unlikely that you are pregnant on the basis of your actions. However, I do think saving up used condoms is a bit revolting...it wouldn't take that much effort to bin them discretely? If his mother ever does spring cleaning that it could be a horrible discovery. As for your lack of periods, it is not that unusual for young girls to have an irregular cycle. It is sometimes a sign of a medical condition such as polycystic ovaries. If you were due for a period and took a pregnancy test that came back negative then it is very unlikely you are pregnant. It is possible to be pregnant and have a negative test (usually as a result of testing too early), but this is rare. It is also possible to get pregnant while using condoms (if they were a faulty batch or used incorrectly). However, the pregnancy test result should reassure you that you are not expecting a baby. If you don't get your period soon, see a doctor and get your hormones checked out.
