Why is it that every time after we have phone sex my fiance gets very sleepy afterwards. I mean well have phone sex a couple times a day sometimes, then shortly afterwards, he's over there snoozing. Am I the only one that this happens to. When he falls asleep, I tend to hang up. Most of the times he'll call me back, only to tell me that he's going to go to bed. This is what I mean-- is this all he really wants (SEX)?

It's normal for a man (and a woman too) to feel sleepy after climaxing. This happens in real-life, and can be the cause of some tension if both partners are not evenly matched. It can be particularly frustrating if one climaxes faster than the other, and isn't particularly considerate about the other partner's sexual needs.

I think women sometimes tend to see things from their perspective, draw an arbitrary line between "love" and "sex", and fear what they see as an equation which spells only the latter.

For a man, sex *is* a part of love. The release of chemicals also causes bonding and brings people together. (Conversely, the absense of a mutually-satisfying sexual equation could split up a relationship).

I wouldn't worry if your boyfriend seems to want sex from you, provided he is willing to go in for a long-term commitment, and not just one which wears off in a short period of time.

Men usually fall asleep after sex... phone or otherwise. If he's your fiance, then he's planning to marry you and build a whole life with you - right? So not just a sexual relationship. However, if every time he calls all he wants to do is have phone sex then pass out... you might want to say hey buddy can we have a regular conversation first?

A reader, anonymous, writes (20 November 2009):

Outside of phone sex, surely you guys make time to spend with each other, go out etc? If so then he's definitely not using you purely for sex. He wouldn't be called fiance otherwise.

Men release number of chemical after sexual satisfaction, Prolactin being one that makes them sleepy. It's a natural thing that happens.

You are definitely not the only the one it happens to. Think about the multitude of stories of men falling asleep after sex... Now we all know why!
