As the other answers say.... You cant know for sure why he is having this prob, but I sincerely doubt that its you.
Men as they get older can lose the ability to sustain an erection no matter how hard they try, he could be tired, stressed, run down, worried about something, or he could have an underlying reason like diabetes or blood pressure problems any number of things.
It is advisable that he seek medical advice to make sure that all is well with him. I know he wont want to maybe discuss it but offer your support and go with him. At least if you can rule out any health issues, you can then take the next step to finding out what the problem is, it could be all kinds of things and could also just be for a short spate of time.
Get him checked out and then you can go from there and your GP will be able to give further advice as to what to do and what options there are for you.

reader, anonymous, writes (24 January 2007): Losing the ability to have an erection is more common in older guys, but he definately needs to see a doctor as he could have a host of medical conditions that he is unaware of like hypertension, diabetes, arterial disease, low testosterone or just plain ed.
I don't think it is you or his lack of desire, it could be substance abuse for sure, and sometimes men have trouble keeping their erection going at this age, and they make a little blue pill for that...

reader, anonymous, writes (24 January 2007): It is hard to answer this question. He could be disinterested or he could have developed erectile disfunction. It can also be a combination of things. It is important to have open communication and if necessary seek a doctor or therapist.
