A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

So I met this boy over the internet. His name is John and I'm absolutely wild about him. the thing is that I know that it doesnt feel right to flirt with a guy who I've never even met but as we started talking we got close. We also texted. his parents found out now we are forbidden to talk. What should I do? I miss him like crazy and it's driving me crazy that i cant call him or text him because his parents took up his phone. any advice?

You have to let him go.

His parents obviously know that you could be anyone and that is fair enough.

Try and move on and find a guy in real life to chat to.

Good Luck!! xx

A reader, anonymous, writes (15 May 2009):

Use your friends phone

Get yourself another phone

phone from a landline in a public place

Text from an internet cafe

Loads of things BUT find out in the meantime why you are forbidden to phone.

Could it be that this man is grooming you and is far more older than he makes out ?

Remember the voice has absolutely no resemblence to the actual picture of the person. How many DJs on the radio when you see them in real life measure up to the vision ?

If you do the above and arange to meet, for goodness sake take a friend with a mobile with you so they could keep an eye on you, and be prepared for adverse action if the case may be. MEET IN A PUBLIC PLACE where there is plenty of eyes watching. If the man is genuine then he would have no objection to meeting you in a public place. You can turn up about a good hour before and keep watch for your prospective date from a distance. If you don't like what you see or the date is an old man with a young voice you can scarper and put it down to experience, for good measure you can alert the Police but be sure of your facts and descriptions before doing so.

Good luck and be extremely carefull
