My ex boyfriend and I almost had unprotected sex but I backed out at the last minute and when I got my period at the end of the month I thought I was ok. I heard you could get pregnant like that anyways and when I missed my period this last month I started getting really paranoid. What should I do?

reader, anonymous, writes (22 January 2008): Not sure I understand the chronology here. If you had "almost sex", or even had full sexual intercourse, then had a period AFTER that, you DID NOT get pregnant from whatever happened during the "almost sex".
If you had any more "almost sex" after that period, you might have gotten pregnant. Depends on what kind of "almost sex" you had. If not, then your period is late for other reasons.
It could be the stress of school, or breaking up with your old B/F, or a change of eating habits. It could be that you have a minor illness like a cold that is upsetting your body's operation. It could be that you're a young woman - young women are often rather irregular in their cycles. It could be a potentially serious health problem. If it's more than a week late you should consider consulting a doctor. If there are other symptoms, you might want to see a doctor sooner.

Was there any intercourse? If he did have sex with you but wasn't wearing a condom and pulled out or w/e you could have gotten pregnant, but if you had 1 period afterwards I don't see how it's possible.
