Overprotective parents and a confusing relationship

I have strict parents who make me scared 2 try 2 begin a relationship, they don't let me go out much, but now its this guy who I have known 4 a year and I want 2 be with him, but he stay an hour away from me, but I'm not sure if he's the 1 for me b/c right now he's in need of some money and I agreed to help him out but I hope he dnt like me only b/c I'm giving him money, the thing is he has always seem 2 like me but I'm kind of confused b/c we talk on certain days and we don't see each other a lot, we haven't spent time togetha since last summer, any advice what a girl should do???
