writes: My boyfriend and I just started new jobs. His work hours are from 2:15 - 11:00PM at night and I work 10 hour shifts at a busy office. I find time during my breaks to call him... and now I feel like I am very needy girlfriend. Recently, I'm noticing his not all too keen when we chat on the phone together when I am at work. Yet, once or twice a week he makes an effort to swing by and say hi to me. When I try to call him after his shift he never wants to talk to me but go to sleep. We now barely see each other. I love my boyfriend... but how are we ever going to make this work?

reader, anonymous, writes (28 October 2005): Surely you both have days off..try to organise them days off to match each other..yes work and jobs are important but so is your relationship..you work to live not live to work.
