writes:Hi! Very childish question here, but Im worried. Its a very miniscule problem but I am looking to purchase some "bedroom toys" but Im worried that if I use my debit card the bank will see my purchase! I live in an extremely small town Im taking MAYBE 3500 people and Ive known the tellers at my bank since I was just a kid. It would be extremely awkward to go up and have one pf them give me an odd look if they were, say printing out my statement. Will they be able to see my purchase? And if so what are other options? I do not own a credit card and dont plan to until Im more financially secure.. Thanks for your help.

 You can get a prepaid debit card and use that, no statements to any banks. I know Visa and American Express sell those. I think they come in $25, $50 and more.
Not all places take Paypal, but that could be an option too.

 Forget about a credit card - use Paypal. Your Bank cannot see what you buy via Paypal. And I sure they will post it in a discreet package. Otherwise next time you visit a larger city buy it for cash and bring it home buried down at the bottom of your bag. But never go through the Airport with it as you will be embarassed if the staff notice something on the Xray and expect you to show them what it is.

Also, people can buy anything from a sex store...Lubricant, underwear, sex books... things that even the holiest of the holy sometimes need!! Its not just dildos and the like... Your bank statement will not have the breakdown of the purchases...I think you are worrying too much.... I am sure some of the people in your bank have purchased something sexual at some point!

This is a problem many people, especially women face everywhere, which before massively affected sales of such items to these kinds of businesses, so nowadays privacy is number 1, ie. the billing name, item listings on the package are generally v discreet, normal company names, i recommend you look at a more female friendly website, also they will often tell you what theyre billing name will come up as on their faq page (or you can email their customer services to ask), good luck!

Buy it from a place with a non sexual name. They certainly won't know what you bought but may be able to see where you bought it from. Although even that is unlikely unless there was a reason for them to be looking through your bank statement.
Amazon sells dildos and other toys. They might no call them dildos there, maybe you'll have to change the wording to adult massager or something.

reader, anonymous, writes (5 February 2013): Put money on a prepaid card. You can do this at your local kroger kraft walmart and you dont have to use your name to put money know the card and they work just like a debit card .
