hey, just a quick one, would really appreciate a reply, thanks guys. i met this girl a week ago, we've spoken every night for hours and hours and i really love her. i told her i did and she said she did too. we can be completely honest and i trust her completely. she's 3 years younger than me btw. but we have so much in common, nothings ever forced. she lives in another state but we are both going on this course soon, so we'll meet properly. is this whole thing crazy, is it way too soon for me to be certain i love her? i'm not insecure bout it just wanted to know how it seems from the outside.

If you see her as an angel, then it's not love. True love sees her faults and yet willing to live by them. Remember "puppy love is prelude to a dog's life".

Fiona xxx agony auntLove and hate are really strong words and everybody uses them all the time without meaning it.

I am sure you are in love with the idea of being in love, I am sure you really fancy each-other and think you have stuff in common. No doubt you thik you will be together for a while and think that you could be in love at some point.

I say that because true love doesn't happen until like 6-9 months into a relationship. It doesn't happen overnight either, it's a gradual thing you see. You can have bits of love early on but not true love. They say there is love at first sight, perhaps that's more excitement and really liking each-other. There is no harm in that either, what you think of as love at first sight, can grow to true love. After all you have to be really fond of each-other to fall in love, you have to have stuff in common and really like each-other to fall in love. So I would say it's a starting point really.

There is also the physical attraction, don't confuse love and lust in that respect. You can be sexually attracted or compatable but not necessarily in love, just really like as I say.

Good luck, I am sure you will be fine.

Man, Saying that you love a girl after seeing her one time and talking on the phone for one week is very earliy. You have a good chemistry and that's why you feel the way you do.

A reader, anonymous, writes (17 June 2009):

Well love is kind of a strong word to use to say you've only just met, but then nobody else can understand the intensity of your feelings.

I think that you've probably just felt an attraction to this girl really quickly, and things look positive so far. Like I said though, only you know how you're feeling.
