He left a few days ago and i am puzzled about what is going to happen now. He has called and texted me and said some really sweet romantic things but I don't know what we are exactly. He said he was definitely going to come back later on for a long period of time because he wanted to be with me. But i mentioned that i might be able to visit him in a few months but he hasn't replied. I don't want to give him the impression that I'm pushing him into a long distance relationship or something, i understand that it would be impractical but i dont know what he wants. I don't want to lose him (since he will be back to visit) any advice about how to address this problem with him? i am honestly open to anything, whether it be an open relationship, a long distance relationship or even taking a break. thank you!

I wouldn't push to visit him, just in case he's taking a breather to see what he wants with you.
Time will tell--and you're very young, so you have lots of it!
