reader, anonymous, writes (24 July 2007): To elimate the " fishy smell" , try taking cranberry tablets. It seems to neutralize the odor and you will feel fresher....it really works!
A bonus....they can help prevent urinary tract infection.

Hi! Your fishy smell is probably bacterial vaginosis, probably caused by gardnerella bacteria. It's normal! Anyone can get it, and it's not from sex, just from an imbalance of natural flora. But, your partner can get it and give it back to you after you have received treatment. Go to the doctor and get their advice. I've had it before. It's no big deal. You have to take something called Flagyl (metronidazole) which is an antibiotic that fights anaerobic (ie the stinky kind) bacteria. You may have to take it for a day then again a week later, or for a whole week, and you mustn't drink alcohol. I never had it when I had a boyfriend, so I don't have any recommendations for him. Of course, it could be gonorrhea or something worse if it's got a funky discharge, so don't just listen to me, go see a real doctor. Oh, and about your finger, if you ride a bike or do yoga or aerobics, it tightens up down there.

If your boyfriend loves you which i presume he does if you're at that stage in your relationship he won't care. I mean he might tease you about it, mine did but it's normal. It's affected partly by your diet I know. You should be concerned if has a strong sour smell. There's a semi recent edition of Seventeen magazine that actually tells about vaginal smells and discharge colors that would be worth looking into. As for the whole only being able to fit one finger in... it stretches don't worry! :) hope this helped a bit.

ok i dont want to seem rude or anything like that but for the one finger yes it is normal. If your a virgin yes and even if your not yes theres nothing wrong with that, now for that smell theres things that you can do. Im currently a paramedic and its kinda wierd but someone asked me this question the other day. durring the summer time one of the places you sweat the most is "down there". not becasue of anything your doing but becasue theres no air going in or out. exspecially with tight jeans on all the humidity and all. Another is what the underwear is made out of. usually cotton is good but poloyester or any other heavy material is just gonna keep the smell and make it stronger you want something that can breathe in the heat. If that doesnt work you can go to the doctors office and get checked for any type of std or even infections. Yeast infections are known to smell, and those types of infections can be formed by almost anything including sexual contact. again i dont mean to be shaddy or rude im just being honest and truthfull
