reader, anonymous, writes (24 April 2011): Thing about casual sex is that there are real emotional and psychological risks and consequences; some don't show themselves for years after college, particularly among women, though some of these feelings are felt right away, including shame and guilt. Men do not want to marry women who are 'hoes. Sure, men love sluts, for an hour or two, maybe more, but, then that's it. Women often form a bond with men after they have been intimate, and usually it's the wrong type of guy. I've had lots of one night stands, and usually it requires tricking the women into bed, and I'm good looking, buff, and of course smart. The simple truth is that most women feel ashamed and embarrassed, even after they've howled with pleasure hours before, and men feel like great studs. So why do women want to make dudes like me feel great just to feel like a slut afterwards....??

reader, anonymous, writes (5 October 2010): I think casual sex in general is on the rise, and although I don't have any empirical data to support it I believe that the FWB phenomenon is more common than one night stands. Of course, I say this after having a FWB relationship with someone and never having had a one night stand (not so far, anyway)

As for the percentage of one-night stands being higher amongst 20-somethings, it could be. But at the same time, it's not a good idea to generalize about a generation just because of what we see on TV.
I'm sure plenty of people are having one-night stands, and plenty of other people are in relationships. Plenty of people have probably had one one-night stand, and plenty more have had multiple.
