A female age 30-35, anonymous writes:

So I was dating this guy off and on for about three years now. Lets start from the beginning.... Me and him at first weren't really connecting so we broke up. But when we got back together after a few times of trying, we started to have a connection. We laughed, hung out, and talked all the time. He made me happier then anything. After a while after this, we started arguing non stop. he'd call me a bitch and all sorts of things like that. My friends started to hate him, and me and him decided to break up. A few times after I fell in love, and I put my all into our relationship. We broke up again. Recently, we started to talk again, he fed all this stuff into my head about how much he loved me, about a week after, he told me that he had a girlfriend. I don't know what to do now, because I can't even have a serious relationship now because he still has my heart. So i'm confused. help?

A female reader, iSmil3y United States +, writes (11 June 2009):

I think you should try to move on. He shouldn't tell you he loves you then go and get another girlfriend. Chances are, he's lying about loving you. Some guys are jerks but a lot of guys out there aren't. It might take time for you to move on but you really should. If you don't want to be in a relationship anytime soon, then just have fun hanging out with friends and then when the time comes, trust me, a guy will come that's everything you want. Good luck.
