writes: Nollaig na mBan: A day for the ladiesYou may or may not know that in Ireland, the date of 6 January is known as Women’s Christmas (Nollaig na mBan). On this day, the tradition (still strong in parts of the country) is that men take responsibility for housework, leaving women to often go out with friends. Children may also buy gifts for their mothers. So, ladies, have a wonderful “little Christmas.” This is a day to celebrate the role and contribution of women in society, in our homes, places of work and in public life. This is your day to kick back and accept the thanks from the people you mean so much to, so enjoy it. And just like St Patrick’s day, whoever said you had to be Irish to observe the day? Come on everyone, thank a special lady in your life on Women’s Christmas.I wish you all the very best.
