A female United Kingdom age , *londecatlover writes:

I have new lover who i seriously want to keep. i am terrified of offending him.

He is smartly dressed and clean in appearance, however, i noticed that he does not use a deodrant and has a tendency to sweat a lot.

How can i possibly tell him, without upsetting him, i think he would be mortified, as i would if someone close told me the same thing.

Pease help

If he's got body odour there's nothing quite like telling him - in the nicest possible way of course! It's a fact that someone else smells your BO long before you do, and my guess is he would be unaware that his armpits are giving off unpleasant fumes.

It's ok buying him some nice smelly stuff, but he needs to know why you've bought it otherwise it'll just sit on the bathroom shelf gathering dust, along with the Old Spice aftershave and that Hai Karate stuff that stinks to high heaven.

'Sure' deodorant is one of those preparations that reduces sweating. I know it's not the best smelling, but it's effective.

You dont have to be mean about it just tell him, "hey baby, You're very sexy and you make me so happy but I need you to wear deodorant because it is un hygenic not too." or something of that effect but if you are scared to offend him then it is not going to work becuase you have to be able to tell him how you feel without breaking up.
