Well I just had a baby, but before I knew I was pregnant, I tested one day before my missed period ( with those tests that are supposed to be able to tell you 5 days before your missed period) and it was negative, but my period still did not come, I waited 4 more days and then it turned out to be positive. So now I have a CUTE happy healthy baby who I got very lucky with. 6 hours of labor. no pain meds. And he's such happy, patient lil guy! Hope that helps!

Laura1318 agony auntHave pregnancy test every 3 days after your supposed period's due date until they come. The test should be conducted from 3 to 14 days after your period's due day.

Some girls even can be pregnant while having their periods. It is actually not their period but some bleeding occurs when the egg attached to the walls of the uterus.

Probably stress or worries which caused them to be late.

Entirely Unique agony auntI had a negative result back on a pregnancy test when I was pregnant with my child and I have known it to happened to other people so it is possible.

You might have taken the test too soon, some tests require a certain period of time after your period due day and some require being tested first thing in the morning etc.

Personally I would do another test and/or get a blood test done at your doctors.
