We haven't been together long so I wasn't going to make a deal and get him something ridiculous but he's 21, it's a special birthday. I was thinking of one of those giant cookies with a 'Happy Birthday' message on? But that's not much? :/Any advice on what to buy for him? Reply to this Question Share |

If he's a decent guy, it really is the thought that counts, so the cookie is a good idea in that department. I don't think a movie ticket would be any different than giving him 20$, but tickets to a play would make a different date night for the two of you.
Or a nice belt (real leather not that bonded crap) or something similar that could remind him of you without being too complex or expensive.
A good place to find gifts is (surprise!) a gift shop. Some may be filled with crap, but some have some very interesting and unique gift ideas. Part of that depends on the size of the town you live in.

I agree that the cookie is a lovely idea and tickets to a film is a nice suggestion from iAHTHY.
Cheaper than cinema tickets though is something like a pint glass with 21 on it, from a card shop. You could then maybe put a slip of paper inside with a note saying "The first pints on me!".
Just a thought.
I hope this helps AB x

I think you are right "on target" for your gift-giving... after all, you've only known this guy for a couple of months.... so being TOO extravagent is premature and inappropriate.....
If'n I were in your situation... I'd get him the cookie, a card, and a new battery for his watch....
Good luck...
