Now, the first month when I first started taking the pill, I was on antibiotics so the pill wasn't effective. I just started vommiting a couple weeks ago, is this normal? Also, Can your periods be a little irregular the first couple months when you first start taking birth control? Any advice is helpful!

I got put on the pills because I had heavy bleeding and bad pains around the time of my periods. Thanks though:)
And anon..Thanks! Your advice helped me out the most since you're on the pill too. I never really kept track of when I started my period but I thought about it and remembered I was on my period around Mothers Day so I'm not late at all but thanks for the advice on why I'm throwing up a lot so I'm not freaked out. But thanks guys:)

If not, go see your doctor so she can adjust your dosage or suggest waiting longer. Your periods might be irregular if you start a pack of pills in the middle of your cycle rather than right after your period or if you miss too many (2 for me personally) and the period will take probably two days after starting your last week of pills to come (Tuesday most likely if your pack's week starts on Sunday). Try to take Kariva at roughly the same time every day as it will make it more effective at period regulation and pregnancy prevention. If things don't even out after four-five months, talk to your doctor about trying a different pill with a different combination of hormones.
Hope this helps!!!!!

Hi,
Birth control pills can have side effects such as what you have described. The best bet would be to check with your gynae on it. You can switch to other BC pills that would suit you better with less side effects.
In the meantime, take a pregnancy test to rule out the baby factor, if you did not use another form of contraceptive while taking antibiotics...you MAY be preggers!!!
Good Luck....
