My work colleagues rarely bother asking me to go out with them as a group. How do I get accepted by this group? Should I ask if I can join in?

Hi,

I really hope its okay just this once to ask a different type of relationship question!!

My work 'mates' never ask me to go anywhere with them, and I was wondering should I start asking them to come out with me instead?

Ive worked there a year, and the one time I went with them - to the Christmas party, everyone talked over and around me because they are firm friends having worked together for years! Im usually confident but I found myself silent!

Turns out they socialise a lot and Im wondering am I missing out not joining in?

We do all get on in work, and I have an outside life so I don't need to try I guess,

but should I ask?

Considering they dont ask bother asking me to go out?

Thank you.

aunt honesty agony auntYes I think you should go for it. Maybe none off them have even thought about asking you to join them. So why not ask them on a night out and hopefully things will change.
