But, man, it's so hard! Can you please tell me some happy weight-loss stories? Any motivation stories? Success stories? Sometimes I feel like giving up and having a bucket of icecream! Thank you!

I lost my weight eating very little every 2 hours. Like really little, like 3-4 tablespoons of something but very often

If you want to burn fat and gain muscle, I really reccomend that you read The 4 hour body by Tim Ferriss.

If you stick to a 1400 calorie diet, a 2lb per week loss is achievable with 30 minutes exercise 5 times a week (that is something that raises your pulse rate and makes you slightly out of breath, speed walking, swimming, jogging etc)
Try to avoid processed foods, take out food and junk like cookies, ice cream, cake, pizza, sodas (even diet ones) etc.
Stick to foods with one ingriedient, fruit, vegetables, meat fish, spelt bread, salad foods...keep it natural and healthy and not only will you be able to shed the extra weight, your skin will be healthy and glowing and your hair will be shiny.
It's just for 8 weeks and your wedding will be one of the best days of your life so why not make the extra effort to achieve your goal.
Count your calories, weigh food if you have to, keep a food diary (because it helps you to stay within the weightloss range)exercise, drink water, get plenty of sleep...you will begin to have more energy after 3 or 4 days and will have less bloating and mood swings.
Good luck for your wedding, I am sure it will be a magical day for you xxx

Water. lots of water :) I actually always drink a cup - 1 1/2 cup before I eat, that does seem to fill me up and make me full from smaller meals.
And if you do eat something you shouldn't... don't beat yourself up, but added to your daily calorie intake and eat less of everything else you are supposed to eat that day - so your calorie intake is the same.
And if you don't feel like doing exercises, do them anyways. I get on the treadmill and set the timer to 40 minutes, however somewhere around 35 I reset it to 50 and then at times to 60. Keep challenging yourself.
I have a set number of reps I HAVE to do, but I always end up doing 2-3 more.
Use a measuring tape to gauge your progress instead of the scales. If it's inches you want to lose.
And yes, keep the eye on the price.

5-6 kilos is a very reasonable and obtainable goal in that time period as long as your diet plan also includes 30 minutes of moderate exercise at least a few times a week.
If you are concerned that you will not be able to lose all the weight you want to, but want to appear slimmer, you should add pilates to your exercise routine. It will tone your abs (and other muscles) and give you a more defined waist
I've recently started working out to a beginner pilates video that i found on youtube because i wanted to tone my abs (i have a small bulge at the bottom of my abs from losing muscle tone and i want it to be less noticible) and despite it being a beginner video, i found it to be somewhat challenging. My fiance said that he noticed a positive change in my posture and muscle tone after i'd done the routine only twice. He is considering trying out pilates himself...but hasn't quite gotten past the macho mindset that 'pilates is for girls.'

5-6 kilos is 11-13 pounds. that is too much to lose in 8 weeks... that's more like a 6 month project.
You may be able to drop about 4 kilos (9 pounds)
You have to keep your eye on the prize...
eating healthy and being fit is hard work and takes a long time and lots of dedication and effort.
take one day at a time and keep doing what you want to do
when you want to eat
brush your teeth and take a walk...
and congrats on the wedding.
