reader, anonymous, writes (29 March 2007): Go straight to your doctors! It needs checking out before it gets worse. It sounds like thrush which is easily treated but see the doc first.

From the info you gave, it could be that you are allergic to a soap detergent that you underwear is washed in. Or a new soap or shower gel that you are using. That can often cause a redness and itching in a more sensitive part. As your mum changed her washing powder ? Have you changed the soap that you wash with ? That would be the most common reason for this.
On another note, not knowing the full facts, if this itchiness is accompanied by a white dishcarge or an odd smell, it could be the yeast infection thrush. If its thrush you can purchase a cream called canesten from the pharmcist to clear this up pretty easily.

This could well be a common vaginal infection called thrush and is easily treated.You can buy crea,s over the counter at your local chemist. Or if you have had unprotected sex it could well be an STI. Go see your doctor if in doubt. take care hun x x
