writes:while cleaning my stepsons room recently i accidentally pressed play on his vcr and to my horror it was a video of myself getting undressed in my dressing room, he must have put a hidden camera in the curtains which wasn't there when i checked.I played all of the video and there was about 2 hours of footage of me getting changed. I feel violated and don't know what to do. It gets worse, feeling paranoid i checked his laptop and found sexual pictures of myself that my husband took years ago that i destroyed but he must've found them and made copies.He is 20 and a bit of a loner.I really dont want to tell his father as it would cause serious problems.I am also worried about what he is doing with these pictures and videos. reader, anonymous, writes (17 December 2008): This is verified as being by the original poster of the questionSo have confronted my stepson and although i am angry and disgusted i did it in a calm way, he started crying and kept saying sorry and begged me not to tell anyone, i just told him i was very upset and violated and could never trust him but i have to let it go now and try to forget about it, i believe he will not do anything again. Not ideal but i will try to just get on with things now, hopefully he will not be here for long. Meanwhile i have the added worry of the possibility of myself being on pornographic websites, i have searched a few websites which were on his history and luckily i have found nothing, so will let it rest. thank you for your comments and advice.

I have destroyed the tape and found the camera and taken that. As for the images, after spending a lot of time searching through his computer internet history i strongly believe he has been putting them online on different sites, i have deleted the ones on his hard drive but obviously cant do anything about them if they're online can i?

 I agree with the previous posters that you must do something but I am also going to take your word that telling his father would cause serious problems, perhaps problems that will be of greater trouble (abusive dad, etc.). Having studied sexual deviancy, I suggest you first talk to him about it, alone. Find out what he is thinking but don't threaten him by telling him you'll tell his father. You're trying to help him, not punish him (punishing troubled individuals can make them worse). After you both have worked things out, then you have to decide how to tell his father and how he'll react. If you decide to do so, do it with him (in case his father reacts aggressively). If telling his father is absolutely not an option, then you may have to go with him to a psychologist and work things out behind his father's back.
However, if he is uncooperative, even given time, then I think the only option is to tell his father.

I recently watched a documentary about this kind of thing, and the men started at home, and then started doing it with strangers and friends that they knew. You can't leave this alone, he's a pervert, you don't know if this is his first time, and if you don't stop it know, he'll do it to other people and he will get caught and go to jail.
Your a wife and a stepmother. For his and your husbands sake, you have to say something before he lands up in jail. He is a sexual pervert, you need to tell your husband that his son is very sick.
