Last monh he was given plenty of notice that the agency was coming to inspect the house as agreed when we signed the contract. It's just a check up that we aren't ruining the place. Ayways he wouldn't clean up his shit (His territory), acting the drama queen saying he was busy when all he did was play his Ps3. His space looked like the house had been trashed by homeless people. It was disgusting. The night before the inspection I emptied the trash bin in his bathroom into a the house trash outside the bathroom door. He then gave out and old me saying I was a buzzkill. I know it was his personal space and apologised but he had been asked countless times to tidy up. The agency would have fined us both for the way the house was. He has since bitched about to our friends. How do I deal with this guy now? Reply to this Question Share |

I agree with Auntie Bim as well. I would look into breaking YOUR end of the lease and move in somewhere else.
It's DISGUSTING to live with a slob. And you should have to PAY fines for him being a nasty nasty dude.
Call your landlord, explain the situation. He might be able to find you another place to room. Then HE (the landlord) can deal with the slob.

How do you deal with this guy? Laugh at him. Who do you think looks worse in the story he told your friends, him or you? You saved both of your hides from fines. He's a pig to live with, and now it looks to your mutual friends that he's immature enough to have to be "mommied" because he can't clean up after himself. Seriously. He should be ashamed of that getting public. Even if he twisted the story to make you sound like a buzzkill, just tell your friends a fraction of the nastiness he chooses to live in, and they'll be repulsed.
I agree with Aunty BimBim: You may want to move and find a roommate that doesn't put you at risk for that sort of thing. It also may help after this inspection to notify your landlords and find out what recourse you may have. Them being alert to who is causing a mess may save you fines if it can be proven that he is the cause of the nastiness.
Seriously. He makes himself look like a castrated fool for bitching to your friends about it.

See what it will take to break the lease and find somewhere else to live.
If this guy wants to live surrounded by all his shit let him, but you are in danger of incurring extra debts, getting kicked out, and getting your name black listed as far as rentals are concerned.
He might not care about that, its his choice, but there is no need for you to go down the gurgler with him.
