writes:my sister ruins my life, she always takes my things and steals things off of other people and i suffer for it at school and at home. All my friends say just ignore her and it will get better but they don't understand I have to live with it everyday. She makes my life hell and even my parents have admitted she ruins my life, i cry at school and have to stay round friends houses to have a break from it all!! I cry nearly every week because of her and i just can't cope I am only 16 and she is only 12 sometimes she is even physically abusive to me, like she has scratched me and i have scars from her and she is very violent, i just don't know what to do i really can't cope anymore!! Someone please help me!

reader, anonymous, writes (18 December 2008): Stand up to her! Do not let her bullying upset you! Also, understand her! She is the smaller sister and is trying to do everything to get your attention. How about trying to give it in a good way - going for a walk, going for a coffee, going to a play - doing something together? She sees you as the older and wiser one, on the verge of a freedom she can only dream of at the age of twelve. Build bridges! She can't really hurt you. Only you can do that. But letting her get away with nasty stuff is neglect, and as harmful for her as to you.

reader, anonymous, writes (18 December 2008): well if you want to ignore her then lock yourself in your room. when your not there then lock your room so she wont take anything. i understand you because when my sis was living with us she would always take my stuff. sit there and talk to her and tell her she needs to quit being a child. shes going to be a teen next year and needs to learn how to act like one. tell her you two could be freinds if she acts right.

 Look I am the younger sister in this case, but I would never put my hands on my sister because she would knock the hell out of me. Show your sister that you're the older sister and you're not taking any bullsh** from her (like my sister did me). The crying thing don't cry because you're stressing yourself out for no reason and that's not good for your health. Just talk it over with your friends and you can even pray about it and ask God for help, you can also read the Bible. MOST OF ALL YOU NEED TO USE YOUR VOICE POWER & AUTHORITY OVER YOUR YOUNGER SISTER BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T NO ONE ELSE WILL BECAUSE SHE'S THE YOUNGEST.
