Errm, the only thing you can do it ask him. That's it. If he gets sulky and refuses to talk about it, then you're in a troubled relationship before it's even started. Do you know anything about his past? Has he been hurt before? Or is there serious stress in his life at the moment? These are the quesitons that you need answers to because these are the most likely problems. But if you don't get answers, don't confine yourself to a cold relationship.
