They're covered in dry skin, and some of it keeps coming off. what could this mean? Is it serious, or just a domestic problem that can be solved easily? Thanks

Dermatitis can affect any part of the body and its symptoms is dry, flaky, itchy skin...a bit like dandruff. You can get creams from the doctor for it, but you could try to treat it yourself if you are embarrassed - a water based cream applied to the area should hydrate the skin and stop the flaking. If that doesn't work, you need to get checked out by a medical practitioner for other conditions such as thrush. Don't be shy, they have seen everything before!

It's probably nothing to worry about, but worth consulting a doctor to make sure.
The chances are that it is only dryness of the skin, and a cream or skin oil to stop the skin drying out is all that's needed. A doctor would recommend the best product, or a pharmacist - but if you're anything like me then you won't want to have to ask about something personal in front of the women who are invariably behind the counter of the shop! So going to the doctor is probably best and it would also rule out a range of skin conditions that do need more specialist creams/lotions.
Just one thought: are you touching yourself down there after handling anything that might be an irritant?

Sounds like egsima (sp?) Dry flacky skin. Does it itch? Go buy some emu oil, apply 3 times a day, will help it. If you are worried though, you should visit your docter.
