I'm so completely over-whelmed with love for my lovely little son it scares me....I'm trying *So* hard to be the best mum i possibly can be. I really am..I would do anything for him. And although I'm told by family members and my health visitor that i'm doing well - i'm scared I'm not :( last week my baby had thrush, i was told that was probably caused by antibiotics he was given in hospital..but still i feel so guilty and scared i did something to cause it... And now today I noticed his eye is very red...and he keeps sneezing... if he's not better tomorrow I'll take him to the doctor - but what will they think me taking him twice in 2 weeks?! have i done something wrong? i'm so frightened....I know I'm probably just being a neurotic new mum but i'm so terrified of losing him.... any advice would be very welcome and sorry this is so long. You are doing fine! This typicaly happens when you first have a baby! Their emmune systems havent built up yet so for the first two months they typically can get colds and even colic ( and eventually every mother has to deal with colic whether its their first child or another) Dont blame yourself!!! As long as he gets the medical attention he needs ( and it really sounds like youre a great mom) then their are no worries there!!! Enjoy your son as much as you have been. Just take him to the dr when he needs it and you are all set! You just have a case of "new mom jitters!" lol. Good luck with your baby!!! And congratulations!!!!! ^_^ I'm so happy for you.

If he had thrush and then stuck his fist in his mouth and then his eye, he could have caused conjunctivitis or "pink eye", which does need a Doctor's treatment. Don't worry about bringing your child in, that's what they are there for! And where they are newborns, they need the best care that you can give them, so they will be expecting you to be overprotective, Hunnie! It sounds like you have great Mommy instincts! Congrats and I hope that you get some solid sleeping time soon... Do you have help, family or someone that you can call for a break nearby? I hope he is feeling better soon! XXX
