writes: Ok so i met this guy while i was in placement and we liked eachother so we started going out.....well he got discharged before me and i got discharged soon after him we've been going out for almost a year now and my parents havent met him yet. I really like this guy and my mother says that i have to break up with him on the 18 of this month because he turns 18! i dont want to cause i really, really, REALLY like this guy i cant even look at other guys with out thinking of him......i want to be with him and i want my parents to like him.....how to i get my parents to approve of me going out with this guy?

It seems strange that youve been going out for a year and he hasnt met your parents, what are you waiting for? They won't approve of him until theyve actually met him and assessed his character for themselves, so this is an absolute must! Your mums concern is probably to do with his age, if you are a few years younger than him. Invite him over to your house while they are around so they can see how he treats you; if youve picked a good guy your mum will probably be far more accepting of the relationship, and not insist you get rid of him on his 18th.
