Yes it is true that you are of age to decide on your own, but even then people can offer to help you:well i'm sorry there are not many possibilities in this case, but to just have a long chat with your mom, speak to her frankly and to the point!!ASK her why she doesn't accept this (whether she has a grudge or something like that)this is all that you can do !!!One more thing possible is for both the families to have a chat and sort things out (which is harder than it sounds, but still attempt it)thats all buddy all the best !!!
